FBL Membership Meeting 6:30 pm

Directors
The following Directors are seeking reappointment to the Board of Friends of Bolton Lakes, Inc. A vote of the membership will be made at the meeting.:
  • Leona Crosskey – term to be extended to December 31, 2018
  • Shelly Jewell – term to be extended to December 31, 2018
  • Holly MacDonald – term to be extended to December 31, 2018
  • Karl Prewo – term to be extended to December 31, 2017
  • Peter Van Dine – term to be extended to December 31, 2017
Notice of Special Meeting Thursday, October 22, 2015
Summary of Proposed Amendments October 2015
Article II
  • Section 1: The scope of activity amended to include the Bolton Lakes Watershed and the lakes’ four surrounding towns, Bolton, Coventry, Tolland, and Vernon.
Article III
  • Section 1: Amended to eliminate proxy voting
  • Section 2: Clarified that membership is contingent on payment of annual dues
Article IV
  • Section 4: Deleted reference to presence via proxy
  • Section 5: Clarified that only members in good standing are entitled to a vote and removed the requirement that Family and Sustaining members must designate to the secretary who will cast the one vote to which those categories are entitled. There limitation of “one vote per membership” is retained.
Article V
  • Section 3: Amended to require that there be at least one director from each of Bolton and Vernon.
  • Section 7: Amended to the quorum requirement for directors to be a majority of directors.
  • Section 9: Deleted reference to proxy voting in sub-sections c and d.
Article VI
  • Section 3: Eliminated the requirement that there be at least one board member on each committee and clarified that all committee members must be members in good standing.
Article VIII
  • Section 4: Amended to require a financial audit at the discretion of the board and authorizes the board to designate the accountancy to carry out the audit.
Article IX
  • Section 4: Edited for congruence with Article VIII Section 4.
