During the summer of 2010, lake residents began to notice clumps of weeds growing in
sections of Lower Bolton Lake. Such a growth had not been seen before.
Over the course of the next two summers, the weeds became more dense culminating with a lake-wide blue-green algae bloom in 2012, closing the lake to boaters and swimmers for the remainder of the summer.
Residents from Lower and Middle Bolton Lake, together with the Town and State, have come together to restore our lake to the pristine condition seen in these photos.
