Jason and his family (Adam and Xavier) have proudly called Middle Bolton Lake home since 2015, enjoying the water year-round through boating, kayaking, swimming, and appreciating the natural beauty that makes the Bolton Lakes so special.
As President of Friends of Bolton Lakes, Jason is committed to preserving and protecting the lakes for current residents and future generations. He views the Bolton Lakes as a unique natural treasure and believes that responsible stewardship, community engagement, and environmental conservation are essential to sustaining the watershed’s health and beauty for years to come.

JOHN WILLIAMS
Vice-President
John has called Middle Bolton Lake home since 2018 — but he’s been paddling its waters for far longer. Curious by nature, he enjoys diving into the science of the lake and can often be found conducting water testing throughout the year.
LEONA CROSSKEY
Secretary
Living on the lake for over 20 years has given Leona endless joy and a deep respect for its natural beauty. To help protect it, she teamed up with neighbors to found the Friends of Bolton Lakes. FBL gives residents and lake users a strong voice, connecting them with town leaders, state officials, the DEEP, and expert limnologists. Together, we monitor conditions and champion sustainable practices so this vibrant ecosystem thrives for generations.
UTE WINEBRENNER
Treasurer
If there’s open water on Bolton Lake, Ute is probably kayaking on it — any season of the year, if able! She and her husband have loved living on the lake since 2018, and since 2020, she has helped keep Friends of Bolton Lakes afloat as Treasurer.

PETER VAN DINE
Science Committee
Peter is FBL’s resident lake scientist (limnologist), trading complex equations and engineering analysis for water samples and lake reports. A lifelong math whiz, he now crunches numbers for the good of Bolton Lakes instead of engineers. After more than 50 years of lake living, he knows the waters well - and still enjoys measuring them.
PAUL SENK
Membership
Paul has called Middle Bolton Lake home since 2016 and quickly jumped in to serve as FBL's Membership chair. He can often be found paddling, fishing, or pontoon-cruising while enjoying the lake's ever-changing seasons. In retirement, he keeps the momentum going as a board member of the Vernon Greenway Volunteers.
SHELLY JEWELL
Shelly has lived on Lower Bolton Lake since 2011 and is a founding member of FBL. A retired higher education professional, she can most often be found on her standup paddleboard - her happy place - or spending time with her friends, kids, and grandchildren.
EMILY MORRIS
Emily has lived on Lower Bolton Lake her entire life (we won't talk about how long that is). When not working her engineering job, she can be found spending time with her son and husband and training for triathlons - look out for the neon yellow buoy in the lake!
TAMMY PUGH
Tammy is a retired grandmother who cherishes spending time on the lake with her family and friends. When she's not at the lake you'll likely find her on a golf course or off exploring a new travel destination!
JOHN SYPEK
A Bolton Lakes transplant, John can be found swimming (look for the green buoy!), biking and running around the area on a regular basis. John is a proud UConn engineering & business alumni and Husky fanatic!
