Invasive Species and Lake Observation Reporting

You can use this page to request identification or to report your sighting of aquatic life you see in the lakes that might be of interest, especially those that could affect the health and usability of the lakes. Do not use this form to report misbehaving people, lost boats or pets. Your submission will be sent to Bolton Lake Commissioner, Kim Welch, and to The Friends of Bolton Lakes. By using this process, you help us identify potential problems and keep a comprehensive record of observations of native and invasive aquatic life in the lakes.

For aquatic plants, take a picture or two of the plant you are reporting. Try to make the essential features of the plants visible. If possible, spread it out on a lightly-colored, uniform background. Please retain and refrigerate your sample in a Ziploc bag with enough water to keep it moist in case follow-up is needed.

Thanks for reporting your find; the information you provide is critical to early detection of potential problems.

You will be notified when the plant has been identified. If further examination is needed, you will be asked to deliver the refrigerated sample to Kim Welch.
